The first chapter of the Dutch section aims to provide a complete survey of Dutch legislation on this subject.
To your left links are provided to the few reliable English translations of Dutch legislation.

The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport has published a brochure in English outlining the substantial changes to the health insurance system that came into force on 1 January 2006.

The Dutch section of this site contains two additional chapters that deal with the relationship between national and European law. An English translation of these chapters is being prepared.

Recent judgements of the European Court of Justice for instance have had a far-reaching influence in the field of patients' rights under the system of the Internal Market.








Recognition of professional qualifications in Europe

This chapter provides an overview of the régime currently being applied to the mutual recognition of professional qualifications in the EEA and Switzerland.

The member states are obliged to replace this system on 20 October 2007 at the latest. That is stipulated in Directive 2005/36 EC introducing new legislation.
A section is devoted to this new system.

Lastly, it gives a brief outline of the Dutch legislation on professional recognition in the health sector.
